There have been many questions about building or maintaining driveways or long access roads.
I have tried to help when I can, but this paper may answer many questions and give explanations as to why a particular concept is suggested.
It may even let you create a good road way.
Designing Woodland Roads
It covers
- stream crossing
- drainage planning
- slopes or grades
- structures
- Geometry
- use of saddles and benches near ridges
- construction
