Hi, y'all, my family and I are going to
sell our 6 acre homestead here in TX. We are in south DFW, with good highway connections to both Dallas and fort worth- which could be great for someone who wants a homestead, but also can commute to a day job.
The
land used to be a field when we bought it, and we have slowly transformed it into more of a
permaculture friendly place.
The property is a long rectangle backing up to a nice tree line, and
hay field on the east and south facing.
We have a gentle slope going up, so we dug swales to hold the
water and the top soil. We planted young fruit
trees on the swales
apple, pear, plum, peach, pecan, and a couple figs.
We fenced the entire property with electric high tinsel, which help us keep livestock in. And yes, we are replenishing the soil with the manure from them.
We have dug a
pond that can be stocked or used for livestock.
There is a 1400 square foot home on the property, built in 2020. Full electric, well, and septic on property. Also two story storage building near house for extra storage.
Great neighbors, and AMAZING views of the surrounding area. You'll never look at the sunset the same way again.
We are currently getting the place ready for sale, and wanted to reach out to this community first to see if any fellow permies would be interested in our property in this area. This has been an incredible place to live and pretty much have it all. I learned to become a very resilient homesteader on this property, and for that I am grateful. It's now time for someone else to bless this property with their own great memories and adventures.
