I look at it every day, and many times at night, hoping I can one day plant stuff all over that great expanse. The TINY house I'm in rn is under the red X, for scale.
The property is empty of residents as of the time of this post, and is on the market. Outside of Houston, TX.

I am sure others would say the same about me, but there is realities in owning large tracts of land. Taxes are a huge one. It is thousands of dollars per year just to keep what you have. And gracious, it’s easy to use 100% of 5 acres, or 20 or even 50, but start getting into a few hundred acres and it gets a bit tough.
It’s been over 3 years now since I even walked across my land. It’s one of the reasons I bought an old Victorian House on the river with only an acre of land. It’s really all I need. After having hundreds of acres and never using it to its full potential, I’ll let others work the land as they see fit and I’ll spend my days after homestead retirement taking it a bit easier.
