Have housing, the ability to create your own permaculture facet on the farm and what have you.  We are a seasonal dairy, striving to be off grid in the future, or selling power back to the grid.

Hi John,

I am interested in your opportunity. While I am not experienced, I have some exposure to farming growing up in rural NE Ohio. When I was younger, my grandparents had a mini farm with a couple cows and some goats. My parents also raised chickens and turkeys. I was a Boy Scout and served as a camp counselor for three summers. I graduated from a high school military school in Kansas as well. I am particularly interested in finding a prepping-oriented family for the challenging times ahead.

Would there be an option for pay as well? I am trying to pay down some debt while still be able to escape from Ohio.

Regards,
Brett

Hello Brett,

Of course you would be paid for work you do here.  It might be that the work is somewhat hybrid, while the rest of the world operates normally.  Until sales in the "regular" world take off, the job would likely be part time and there is ample work locally.  I might see if you can help with the refrigeration guy, to get certified in that work, so you can repair any refrigeration equipment.

Also many other things that you could do off farm to help build a skill set that is lacking here.... helping to "prep" in that someone holds the knowledge to make that facet work.  Anyway, would love to chat a little more about any potential opportunities.

John

Hi John,

I am interested to learn more about this opportunity. I have some experience living off-grid, but I am currently in Denver, and I am looking for a work exchange type of situation that allows me to still be relatively close to home. I am 25,  and I want to learn as much as I can about self-sufficiency, permaculture, regenerative agriculture, livestock, and everything that I can. While I don't have official experience farming, I am an avid gardener, I love animals, and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and work hard. While I've never worked with cows, I have worked with sled dogs and teenagers, so maybe that counts for something!

I would like to learn more about what you are looking for, or what this work entails.

I look forward to hearing back,
Rachael
