I live on 5000 sq ft (including the house) and this is my third year gardening. 100,000 calories feels daunting, never mind 1,000,000. That said, I’m going to try my best, with the personal goal of improving the amount of food, and the food to effort ratio over time. This year and this thread are for phase one! Phase one has two parts:
1) establish a baseline. How many calories am I growing and harvesting now? What’s working well? What’s now?
2) document projects that move me forward.

May (part one):

NINE POUNDS of wine caps from my wood chips beds and polyculture beds: some of these got eaten right away, some given to neighbors but most were dried or frozen.
