So all my crowns have came up and most root pieces except for what I put in pots. I was under the impression that these would take full sun?? It’s not hot yet but gets pretty limp when temps start creeping up. Did I mess up putting them in the sun? Or maybe as roots establish it will calm down.

Any advice appreciated

I live in the Hill Country and would love to grow Comfrey. I just don't feel it will grow where I live.

Which variety of Comfrey did you plant?

I hope someone with experience growing comfrey in Texas will speak up.

I grow mine in the shade or in a place with morning sun only. Even then it's struggle to keep alive. I had some that I thought were fairly well established after a couple of years and didn't water them last summer and they died back completely. My next strategy is place them in the shade at the edge of a gray water drain field.

I buy blocking 4. For the moment I built a teepee sort of thing to cast some shade. However the younger crowns and little bits coming off of root cuttings are not effected. So I’m hoping as the roots on the older crowns establish better maybe it will be ok.
