Hello there.
I'm thinking of trying wwoof but am afraid that there's no hope to be accepted by wwoof farmers because I have depression.

Though I already went through worst time, I'm still taking medicines. To change myself, I decided to try new things and WWOOF is best way for me as I studied about animal in my university.

So I would like to ask people who has experience of wwoof that if it's better not to tell my depression and medicines when I apply to wwoof farm. I thought I should tell because it's more troublesome when they know my depression after they accept me. But now my first apply to wwoof farm (in Japan) was refused and I suspect that it's because I told them about my medicine.

So usually it's impossible for depression sufferer or medicine taker to do wwoofing? Same in any countries? Please give me your opinion.

If the depression is going to affect the work that you do then maybe go ahead and tell your "employer" otherwise I dont see the need.
If we are talking about suicidal depression then I think that you should be upfront, but if it is just regular depression, I dont really see the need.
If I had a rash on my leg if it is not going to affect my work I would not tell me employer about it, the same goes for an STD.

some things you might want to try...

surround yourself with positive influences
turn off the T.V.
do something for someone else
get a pet
try to eat as much organic food as possible

if you're taking any SSRI drugs, PLEASE do allot of research about them

The best wwoof locations are sometimes full. The choice to let the host know about your meds is yours, but be sure the wwoof host will be accepting and supportive of your career and personal goals. Hosts need compassion and intelligence to, as Fukuoka put it, cultivate "perfection of human beings". Work smart! not hard
