On steep ground terraces
should be used, not hugelbeds. At the Krameterhof terraces dominate the landscape. Hugelkulturs are most important on flat ground, or in places where there is little
land to garden. They expand the surface area of earth to grow on, and so are particularly useful for small lots where space is tight.
To stabilize a property like you are describing you want terraces. Terraces are a more complicated matter and should be built in stages, not all at once.
