Hey does anyone have some good resources on earthbag basements? I’ve seen a couple YouTube videos where they collapsed but they were not circular.

I live in Alaska, reasonably dry but it rains a bit. Gets cold. I was thinking of earthbags reinforced with that glass polymer rebar and putting insulation around the sides, and a plastic water barrier sock around it, to about 2 ft above ground level.

Any advice or material to read up on would be appreciated.

I did a basement. I dug it out by hand. Boy was that hard. Rent an excavator. It would’ve been so worth it. I’m in Jemez Springs New Mexico in the mountains. We have really hard clay soil.  I used bags to shore up the basement walls. I put posts 6 posts in the ground and poured concrete. Then I dug a trench around the hole and put in the posts for the door. I put a tarp down with some lava rocks in the trench. Then I put a cement mixture in the first three rows of bags. Then I built it up around. Then I put in the second story floor that’s a loft. I just have to finish the roof.
