Hey folks,
So Ernie and I are still having this conversation with the City of Portland about Rocket Mass Heater permitting.  We need to justify any differences from the ASTM specs for masonry heaters, and we could use some help from rocket mass heater owner-builders.

If you have built a Rocket Mass Heater using Ianto Evans' and Leslie Jackson's book, we'd love to hear about it.

Especially about
- surface temperatures,
- fuel and smoke performance
- features that make or break it for you, and
- any protection you added for wood or other combustible materials nearby.

I'm opening this thread specifically for people who have already built one.  If you're just speculating, or have other questions, please make that clear or use another thread.

Thanks,
Erica Wisner
