Kimberly,
I'm 45 miles away from Fresno.
I would not call the weather crazy - it was actually great. I got around 1000 mm of rain. I wish it was more evenly distributed though. I got flooded and could not catch up with changes of bedding for my sheep and one got knee infection and two chickens drowned in the coop that turned into a pool.
Finally I have a garden and everything is growing. My winter rye is almost ready for harvest and winter wheat died because of too much water (the previous year it did not develop enough because of only 270 mm of rain). I was able to plant 50 fruit trees and over 30 fruit bushes. 8 lambs were born and 13 chickens hatched. Due to cool weather I was able to cut 60 eucalyptus, fence the orchard and finish/plaster the gate. I'm still adding new seeds to the garden - few days ago I planted more beans, okra and sunflowers.
If it was hot I would not do half of that.
