Was out picking blackberries on a fine morning and find a spotted lantern fly in it's death throes, probably taken out by my shepherd.
Already reported it to the state.
Does anyone have any experience with these invasive creatures?
How worried should I be?
Should prevention, annihilation, or let-nature-take-its-course be the plan?
I can't imagine sending the welcome wagon for a destructive species.

They are just making it to New York and it is squash on sight.

They damage/destroy certain crops like grapes via sap sucking and fungus spores from their excrement.

I would do all you can to destroy them if you spot them.
