Hello everyone!! my girlfriend and i have been wanting to go on some foraging tours around northern California lately and i have done a google search on it but really cant find any clear reviews on some of these people. we want to make sure to pick a good one. we stumbled across one gentleman who seems to be ligit and we wanted to ask if anyone ( by a long shot) has ever gone out with him and how your experience was. his name is Kevin and he has a website called catchncookcalifornia.com  ?  anyone know how he is . or have any other suggestions on good guides around california?

Sanctuary forest in the Mattole valley does an annual series of hikes Spring to Autumn, one being edible / medicinal plant hike that happens around May.
"Sanctuary Forest is a land and water trust whose mission is to conserve the Mattole River watershed and surrounding areas for wildlife habitat and aesthetic, spiritual, and intrinsic values in cooperation with our diverse community."
The Woman who guides it is very knowledgeable.
It has already happened for 2023, maybe you can attend in 2024

There is a vibrant foraging community centered around Grass Valley/Nevada  City.  A big mushroom focused event is held late every fall, and other walks around medicinal herbs etc. at other times of the year.
