Hi, before i was living in a valley in PerĂº and The peasants in that place used to cut Bamboos only when there is full moon. They Say that doing in this ways make the bamboo last much longer.
What do You think about this?  Is it true?
I'm which ways The moon affect plants?
Are there any permaculturist that talk about this?

Cheers

May I suggest reading up on Rudolph Steiner and biodynamics in particular. The theories, if I have it right are based on the fact that things that contain water, like almost everything, are influenced by the pull of the moon. I follow a biodynamic calendar and have basic biodynamic 101 knowledge but my question remains, why would the brightness of the moon be an indicator of anything if the pull is magnetic? Wouldn't the moon influence molecular matter regardless of the moon being in the shadow of the earth or not? This leads me to question how much influence the energy of the sun really has, besides the light spectrum that we can see.

Greetings,

I am a farmer from India practicing the form of agriculture that draws inspiration from traditional Vedic agricultural practices that have been passed down over generations. Biodynamic and moon-cycle based agricultural practices have been practiced in our traditional farming methods for thousands of years. Quite a bit of it is well documented in our texts from 3000-5000 BCE.

One of our practices focusses on following the lunar cycle for planning the field work and preparing bio-dynamic tonics to be given to crops via different rituals. We've brought some of these practices in converting our farm from conventional farming to traditional Indian farming, and have found these to be super effective and scientific.

I am happy to share whatever knowledge I may provide if anyone is seeking.

On the same topic, we are looking to understand how native north American and south American cultures used lunar cycles in farming. We've heard a little bit and we are curious to learn more.

Is there a resource that can help?

Thanks a lot in advance.
