Hello, My name is Enzo and I am working on plans to build a homestead in Greece (the actual plans are a part of my senior project at university). I've been researching cobb building, and read a couple of the builder guides on cobb. I'm looking for any tips that you had during the construction or planning process (for example if applicable, which software or platforms did you use to create mock-ups of floorplans?). In the plan so far I was going to discuss french drains, either mortared stone or poured concrete foundation, cobb walls for the first floor of the building, and straw bale for the second floor, (still working on roof research). There is not too much precipitation in the area and mild winds. I am hoping to use solar power and would happily receive advice on anything related. The actual construction will be a faraway thing as I will be graduating from university just this year and do not have any land yet, nonetheless I would still love to hear your advice because learning and progress are slowly achieved and you'd be helping me with both.

Thank you!

Enzo, welcome to the forum!

I love the look of cob structures.

I have not had the opportunity to work with cob so I hope others will give you lots of tips.

I did NOT cry! It was this tiny ad that cried. The tiny ad is a crier, not me.
