hi all,

my partners family has purchased about 10 acres in tanzania to set up a permaculture property / food forest. animals will be onsite as well, so we are looking for any info we can get on native plants that would be good for pasture raising and feeding goats, cattle, and chickens. any advice or information specific to the region at all would be greatly appreciated! we need all the knowledge we can get!

Welcome to the forum!

I hope you will share your progress as you build that property into a permaculture paradise.

My suggestion would be to look for drought-resistant plants that are already growing in that area.

Here are some articles that might offer other suggestions:

Learn to say Acacia. This will be your main nitrogen fixer and fodder tree. Also, the baobab tree would be worthwhile.
