Hello,
I am a 37 years old male. Looking for a woman (girlfriend) to live off-grid together.
Currently, I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and I would prefer to stay within the Prairie provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba).
I am an immigrant. I am originally from Russia, and now have been living in Canada for around 8 years. I am now a Canadian citizen. I speak English fluently, but with an accent. (I also speak Russian and French.)
Currently, I work remotely as a software developer.
I am on path to financial independence (the FIRE movement,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIRE_movement). I invest on the stock market and have passive income from dividends. Earlier this year, the passive income from my investments for the first time exceeded my current day-to-day expenses. This is a huge milestone on path to financial independence. But I am not quitting my job yet. It would be irresponsible. I am going to achieve the passive income several times greater than the expenses. And then I will quit. So that I will still be able to save after that and to continue to increase the gap between the income and the expenses. My current estimate for this point is around 4 years from now.
After that, I am seriously thinking about buying an acreage and living there off-grid. If I find a woman to live off-grid together, I might consider moving off-grid earlier (while still working remotely as a software developer).
Ideally, I am looking for a woman who would be interested in the FIRE movement as well. And, ideally, who would be already on path to financial independence as well.
I watch a lot of off-grid homesteading vlogs on youtube.
Regarding the off-grid living, I am mostly interested in prepping and in having self-sufficient power and heating sources. For example, I would like to design and build DIY wind turbines. I am much less interested in agriculture and not at all interested in raising animals. My idea regarding food is to store a large supply of food (to be able to survive for several years on that), and to go to a town/city once in several months to replenish the food supply. If a woman wants to do agriculture and/or animals, that's ok, but it would be mostly her responsibility.
I read a lot. I try to read at least 52 books per year (1 book per week on average). This year, I already surpassed that while it is still October.
Once I achieve financial independence and quit the day job, I would like also to try myself as a writer (of both fiction and non-fiction). But that might not work out. But I would like at least to try.
Deal breakers (I am not interested in women with any of the following):
* politically far left
* xenophobe, having anti-immigrant views
* supporting vaccine passports (being vaccinated is ok; supporting vaccine passports to force other people to get vaccinated is not)
* deeply religious
I will send my photos by private messages to those who are interested.
