Fly's and duckweed

I have a crazy surplus of duckweed. Can i cook it and feed it to the black solider flies? if it is cooked it is half broken down will they be more likely to eat it. I tried a little bit in there but I couldnt tell because of the number if it was eaten because i put it in with other food products and gave them so little. Has anyone tried feeding flies cooked duckweed? or raw duckweed?

I don't have BSF or duckweed, so I'm all theory
Do you want to...hurry things along because you have more weed than ways to use it?
Got chickens? Apparently they go mad for the stuff.
I know it'll really get compost cookng!

got tons more then i can use.. and you can only give so much to chickens... balance diet and all. and it's backing up but i can prolly cook it a bit to soften it and gut load it into blackflys if i could get them to eat it. maybe ferment it?
