Greetings all,
Myself and my husband have been considering community for a couple of years now. We're on the interest list for Cascadia Commons on the edge of Portland, and we also want to examine other options as well if something else is a better fit. We want to stay out of Portland proper if at all possible, we prefer Washington County and Clackamas County. Our current apartment lease ends in June and we're looking to make a move then. This apartment has been nice in a lot of ways, but you know how neighbours are these days, you don't want to bother them in case they don't like it and they don't generally talk to you. We want to live in a situation where there is enthusiastic consent about visiting, collaborating, etc.
We need something that has all-day-every-day public transit access for me, something where we would have some space, as we have camping stuff et al, and a mix of alone time and things to do with others. We're not in a position to buy property at this time, so we're looking for a rental scenario.
Me: I do Celtic/fantasy/folk/shanty singing, performing at Renaissance faires, fantasy festivals, pirate campouts and artisan/farmers markets in OR and WA. I also have a vintage booth at an antique mall in Milwaukie OR (Mafe's Mall). I've been pursuing my growy goals this year, for now its just container gardening on my patio, but I hope for loftier gardening and permicultural pursuits in future as I improve and learn. My husband is getting ready to shift from working at Safeway to doing computer related work, his course will start in late Jan. and last for six months. He's a very good cook, likes cooking for people, is into learning new skills and is sweet and patient.
We're unique and value our personal liberty, while still caring about people and wanting to cocreate beautiful things. We don't do well with strict rules. We do do well with people who can agree to disagree, people who want to find commonalities instead of focusing on the things that divide us, and people who can find common ground in a very polarizing world.
I do Celtic, fantasy, folk and shanty singing at Renaissance faires, fantasy festivals, pirate campouts, and other events in OR and WA, USA.
