Will permies.com offer DIY customizable private mini-forums, likefor a "by-invitation" specific club, or regional permaculture institute, or neighborhood? Perhaps this could be profitable in every sense of the word.

After all, a common design pattern in architecture (and pemaculture) is the deliberate transition between public and private spaces.  Christopher Alexander calls this the "intimacy gradient".  It's a great pattern all around us, and while I haven't read his book "A Pattern Language" the pattern just clicks.  I think the pattern goes something like this:

Public spaces transition to semi public areas on down to private homes, even common areas within that home, down to individual rooms, and personal nooks and private crannies such as a Water Closet or personal drawer.

So what about applying that softer gradient edge pattern here on the forum, for large and small groups who want to share private projects, unique needs, photos and more personal challenges? I feel that community is a unique edge in the zone between public and private, and permies.com has the technology to create even more community.

Will permies.com ever offer private, custom mini-forums?  What would be the costs involved per user or group?

Edit to add: The specific near-term use case I have in mind is having an online collaboration place available *strictly* for PDC graduates of my bio-region's Permaculture Institute.  Wondering how much $ for us to have a private group with up to X number of normal users and Y admins and Z GB of storage.

We do have the ability to make private forums here.

Example https://permies.com/t/226512/chicken-fan-club

We are still trying to find the right balance as they seem to need a core active group to keep going.   Otherwise,  the forum becomes inactive while contributing to the server bills (permies runs at a loss) and not giving any extra benefit to permies.

Do you have any specific ideas?

The pie forum is also a fun place to share.
But it requires pie.  Pie helps feed the server.
