Oh! But, what you might be able to do (that just popped into my head), is slice the ginger thinly, then dehydrate it. Once the water is removed, you can infuse it into a neutral oil, like sweet almond. The more ginger you use, the syringe it will be. You'd then strain & press all the solids, to get as much oil out as possible. It won't be as strong as the essential oil, but it will also be far less likely to burn your skin, and it would be shelf stable for as long as the oil doesn't go rancid.
