The ultimate goal is an intentional community that is off the grid & 100% sustainable. It was raw
land in 2011 when I bought it and I've been building the infrastructure ever since. We are still building out here but I do have structures to stay in ( camp trailer, rv, and bus ), all 3 being remodeled currently, with plans for 2 mini cabins starting this summer. The closest town is 11 miles away, the closest major
city is Cortez at about 58 miles away. We are on Google maps and have a
Facebook page: Lil Hatu Ranch. If you want seclusion it doesn't get much better than this. If you have your own living structure even better but we have options if not. We
compost, haul or collect our
water, grow food and medicine in our gardens, raise
chickens and soon goats & sheep, with cows and horses on the long list. We are still in the infantile stage of this ranch with many projects to do still- finish 2 greenhouses and break ground on a shop plus the mini cabins. For the caretaker position rent will be zero and could turn into a paid position as the ranch progresses. Others can be negotiated for a next to nothing deal depending on the level of participation for each individual. I intend on being prepared for whatever comes in the unpredictable future.
