I like this idea -- pizza delivery drivers working with farmers.

I can't figure out how to embed videos -- any ideas?

In Chewelah, WA they have a system where the grower goes online once per week and tells them what he expects to harvest next week. It is then put online for consumers to order from. On Monday, they send the farmer an email to tell him the quantities ordered. Tuesday, he must deliver it (to one location) in town (between 11:00 & 1:00), and receives a check for his produce.

Great system for both producer & consumer.

Speaking of the devil! I had the idea a few months ago about the possibility of using the Google driverless car to make local deliveries and having the option to track the car online while making the deliveries. Google maps can be used to plot the delivery routes and orders can be made online and paid in advanced. The customer would simply agree to the date and time of delivery and pick up the order. Imagine that!

I think it is a nice ideas to have people order online. Could be good e.g. for CSA members who want a more personalized box.

I wonder if there is software/websites out there that could make this accessible to tech-savvy farmers

I'm not sure if I approve of this interruption. But this tiny ad checks out:
