One of the things I'm most excited about now that we're getting back into homesteading is having goats again.  I had so much fun with them when I had them before and I love making (and eating) cheese and kefir.

I've had Nubians, Kinders, and Lamanchas in the past and I liked my Lamanchas the best for their mellow disposition.  However, I was seriously considering going with Nigerian Dwarfs this time.  They're SO cute and I like the idea of high yield milk.

After waffling back and forth for three weeks, I finally sat down and did a analysis...  Here's what I came up with (needless to say, Lamanchas won)

Good job at analyzing. It's very helpful to do something like this!

I've never owned a Lamancha, but I have had Nigerians and my experience concurs with your research. I think their cute size and friendly personalities are what make them so appealing and popular.

Not having to keep a buck is a real plus. Bucks are really hard on fences.

So, have you got your goats yet? What do you think?!
