Hello Oregoners

Hows the climate in Klamath County? Older precipitation maps show it as having around 14-18 inches of rain per year for most of the area. Newer maps show a bit less, however I have seen drought warnings for the area. Is the area arid, is it like high desert? Its kind of hard to tell from the pictures I have been looking at online. I wondering specifically about the area near Beatty and within aprox. 15 miles.

I would say the figures you are finding for precipitation are accurate. It is definitely high desert and we tend to get a good afternoon breeze most days. It is a beautiful area with a combination of pastures, pines, and rivers. Most farms in the area grow hay or alfalfa and many have irrigation and/or greenhouses.
