SUCCESS! I was able to hatch Midget White Turkey eggs under two different hens. Believe it or not two heavy breed hens. To get each hen and poults to bond, I put the two hens and youngsters in large brood boxes together. The first day the poults wandered around in the box but as soon as they figured out Mom will scratch and
feed them then keep them warm, the bond was complete. I keep the new families separate from all other poultry on the farm. In the past when I have done this type of hatching, the first 24 hours were always the cautious time. Out in the open
yard the strange species chicks would wander off not understanding the hen's calls and die. The hens have a better record of hatch then I have in the incubator.
