Anyone know how to keep worms from coming in the basement when it rains?

I don't think most people have worm invasions like that so it is hard for us to say how it can be prevented!

Where are they coming from? Do you think they are trying to escape a rising water level? If so, you might want to look for ways to divert the water or increase the absorption of the water into the ground.

If you don't get water in the basement, you are EXTREMELY close to getting it. You NEED to deal with drainage around the basement before it is more than worms coming in.

It's a walk out basement and the worms come in under the door (where the tile floor is). There is a drain outside the door there to direct the water from the stairwell away, but the worms are coming from nearby soil when the ground is saturated - this was after 2 days of heavy rain. They will crawl very far, I'm finding them 12 feet from where they came under the door. They also climb 5 feet up to get on our raised deck and can be seen all over it, drying in the sun after a rain sometimes. I've found them in water barrels 2 feet high as well.

That's good. A tighter weatherstripping seal should be good then. It has to be TIGHT, as in air tight, but that will help multiple problems except for opening the door easily.
