I would assume there are many, just dipping my toes as I will be there very soon, hopefully. Like some summer starters for fall harvest? Also, any must grow natives, all growth types? (herbs, shrubs, trees)
Thanks

I've been very interested in discovering what grows natively/naturally here with minimal care. As others said - what part of GA are we talking?
The mountainous, cooler areas up north grow a very different selection of crops than the more southern areas. Big difference in soil types between the two regions as well.
A good starting point for me to better understand my region was to study the history of GA agriculture a bit. E.g., what makes Vidalia onions special? Why were peaches introduced as a crop? Obviously cotton has a storied history...
I'll second what Anne posted from UGA. They put out a lot of agricultural information that I find very useful for where I'm at. Just keep in mind that they are further north, so they're framing things a bit different than if you are down south in the coastal/9b regions.
I've yet to try my hand at fall gardening here, but this is the year! I won't be able to start anything until early Sep though due to other obligations, so if anyone local has recommendations I'd love to here them!
Aaaaaand ... we're on the march. Stylin. Get with it tiny ad.
