I'm pretty sure I have lots of clay on my property. Straw is pretty easy to come by. That only leaves the sand. Where do you get builders sand. My land is in Oklahoma.

Call a building contractor. One should be able to set you up with sand by the dump truck load.
By the bag, look in the concrete/building materials section of Lowe's or Home Depot.

Jennifer D. I would actually try to be a little sneaky, Excavation Contractors will know soil conditions over a large area. Depending on the number of them in your
area maybe a couple of counties. I would ask them first, just ask for a little quid pro quo !

You could let them know that you are looking for a load of Urbanite/used concrete no more than 4'' thick though 3'' would be better, NO REBAR- this is
because of the amount of rock fill you will need for your Footers and French Drains and my assumption that you will have at least one side of your building where
you will want a thick stem wall to start your Cob walls on top of !

Specifically, tell them you are looking for clean fill, then tell them what you want Urbanite and stone/rock fill ! You may get this trucked to you absolutely free, if
it must be removed from the site they are working on, they have a lot, and they can not find another place closer that will take it for free !

You will find that even if the Excavation contractor hires all his trucking done, he not only will know where you can get builders sand, he may want to give one or
more of his trucking buddies a chance to get your business just to keep that trucker available for his current And future jobs ! Hope this is still timely ! Good Luck !

For the Good of the Craft ! Be safe, keep warm ! As always, your comments and questions are solicited and are Welcome ! PYRO - LOGICAL Big AL
