The college that I attend, Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, recently became a
Bee Campus
In this case, that means that they tilled up a number of areas on campus and planted pollinator mixes. There are some gorgeous gardens in full bloom, now, with a bunch of bees happily flying from one flower to the next. I will try to take some pictures next time I am on campus.
The Bee Campus program is a series of commitments put forward by Bee City USA.
Bee Campus USA provides a framework for university and college campus communities to work together to conserve native pollinators by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nest sites, and reducing the use of pesticides.
