Just transplant it, keep it watered and maybe shaded during the 1st week, sometimes all the leaves will fall off but new leaves should emerge that are ok with the new enviroment, it has been placed in.
If it has fruits on it pick all of them off. Dont fertilize it either. the weather is crazy here too we got more rain in June (ten+ inches) that Jan,Feb,March, April, and May combined. Yes more precipitation(rain+snow) in one month that 5 combined and we normally get the same amount of rain every month of the year. Maybe the new weather for the NE will be monsoon.
Iterations are fine, we don't have to be perfect
