My partner and I are based in PDX. He is turning 30 in September and I would like to surprise him by organizing a visit (or visits) to inspiring permaculture sites in the PNW. He is a passionate permaculture nerd with a particular love of berries. Attached a photo to highlight his cuteness, as well as a photo of our budding food forest

Any recommendations for where we should visit? I've emailed Bullock's on Orca's Island and haven't heard back

Hi Lauren - great idea for a birthday treat! You could check these two threads for suggestions:
https://permies.com/t/99715/permaculture-sites/map-based-permaculture-eco-listings
https://permies.com/t/51030/permaculture-sites/Permaculture-Places-Visit-World
It would be good if people have personal recommendations. Anything in particular you are interested in, or is it mainly plants (berries are good!)?

In Portland itself:  Kailash Ecovillage, Blueberry (Rachel Freifelter)), Columbia Ecovillage.  I know there are also some non-intentional-community options, some other food forest situations, but I can't think of their names right now.  For a vacation trip though, Andrew Tuttle, one of the hosts of The Permaculture Podcast, who lives in WA would know of some more options for you.

Happy early birthday to him! And kudos on that impressive and abundant garden in the city! We're in PDX as well, just moved back to the city after a few years in the woods on the east coast. Are you looking for recommendations of places that are already running as a permaculture focused site? Or sites that want to start in permaculture and need help/ideation/etc?
