I was curious is anyone has kept a shorter waist height or so nanking cherry living fence? What was the frequency of the pruning to maintain that ?

I have not tried to make a living fence per say, but I do have a nanking cherry that now requires fencing being deer nibbled it down to the ground.

I don't know what your critter pressure is like, but that might be a first hurdle to overcome in the quest for an edible hedge.

interesting! Yeah I added sun chokes in places to try to give them something in hopes they would bypass other stuff. It's possible that some form of protection would be needed.
