My pot growing peach tree has some gel like substance growing on the main bark and it's a dark colour, also the leaves have black spots on them and are curling up before falling off.
We live on the Costa Blanca south.
Last year all the leaves fell off around this time of year, but burst into life early April

That gel like substance is Peach tree rust which is a fungal disease that affects peach trees and other plants in the Prunus genus, such as almonds, apricots, cherries, nectarines, and plums.

Where I live we have apple tree rust which is very similar to peach tree rust.

Juniper trees are carriers of the apple tree rust.

I don1 know what causes peach tree rust other than fungal spore.

It can be treated with a fungicide.

We did not have any luck treating our trees so we got rid of them.

Gummosis I believe...it can be caused by several different things including insect damage.
I have major gel at the base of my old peach trees from peach tree borers and have seen some from curculio on the fruit itself.
In fact I've given up on peaches...even though they are easy to start from seed the maintenance wore me out as we only use organic or better methods.
