Here is an update I just posted
A pair of forks and an update
https://judsoncarrollwoodcraft.substack.com/p/a-pair-of-forks-and-an-update

I haven’t been carving much lately due to damage from Hurricane Helene. But, a lady asked me to make a set of pickle forks and I thought the grain looked nice enough to share.

The roads are mostly fixed and the power is back on. Of the few people who have actually heard from FEMA or the SBA, most are being denied or offered little to nothing. I think we will have to wait until after the election for anything to happen on appeals. Insurance won't cover any flood damage. So, a lot of people may lose their homes and the big banks will likely end up owning much of the county.  At least we are not in an emergency situation now... just a slow recovery.

So, I’ll be carving regularly again and hope to have several nice pieces on the site in time for holiday shopping. Stay tuned and please continue to pray for western NC!

Thank you for updating us on the general state of affairs.  I too hope that post-election FEMA will start handling things more wisely and decently for y'all down there.
