Discover how a batch box rocket heater efficiently burns large fire wood loads using a smart steel air intake system. This innovative design allows to load a big pile of wood into the heater through the front door. As it's being lit, the wood gas produced travels through a secondary air intake that sucks air in through a hole in the front door and directs it into the riser chimney. The hot gases then move up into a barrel and from that barrel into another barrel. These barrels fill with hot gases that radiate heat throughout the room, keeping it warm and toasty.
Lightweight fire bricks are used for the chimney, which are more insulative and help prevent the walls from getting too hot. A double tube deposits preheated air into the exhaust, burning up any leftover flammables. This reduces pollution and prevents creosote from building up inside the chimney.
