Seeking partner to share my Northern California homestead with

I consider myself an idealistic realist, therefore I am pretty cynical and see a lot of irony and contradiction in people. However, I am passionate about sustainable living and honest communication, and I have a great sense of humor. I am looking for a radical womon to share my back-to-the-land/permaculture life with, here in Mendocino County, California. I love wild places and have been a birdwatcher since 11. I have also spent a fair amount of time pursuing spirituality, mostly Zen Buddhism. I am sensitive, feminist, mostly vegan (though not dogmatic), politically Green, and love to talk. I enjoy lots of kinds of music and watch a fair number of films and intelligent TV series. I focus my political activism in the way I live, walking my talk.


I grew up in western Oregon and Washington and moved permanently to California in 2000 to be with my partner at the time, start a design business, and find land. Since then, I have created a permaculture demonstration site where I have reduced my carbon footprint by 90% of the US average and I am growing about 80% of my food. I have been teaching permaculture through the Mendo Free Skool and local festivals and wrote West Coast Food Forestry: A Permaculture Guide.

Currently, I have a small (by US standards) strawbale/cob house, a wattle-and-daub storage shed and outdoor toilet, a pond, several young food forests, a kitchen garden, and a grain field. I am working on a cob greenhouse/outdoor kitchen/workshop. The only fossil fuel used on site is propane for the cooking stove, which is supplemented by a solar oven and a cob rocket stove/oven. Otherwise, I use a tiny GEM electric vehicle and an electric bike to get around.

Food forestry is my main interest, but I have acquired a lot of ecological design and technical skills involving renewable energy, ecobuilding, native plant and animal identification, etc. I also have a lot of experience with meditation. I am a good listener and am considered an uncanny judge of character. I have a good singing voice and have an artistic side that is underutilized. I used to be a cook, but got tired of doing that as a job. I am an articulate and passionate communicator, and love sharing my knowledge and experience, so I've been told I'm a good teacher.

I'm not a woman nor seeking to be your partner, I am a permie outside Willits and happened to see this post while scrolling for serendipity. I have been here 2.5 years, i rebuilt a shed as my light straw clay house, have a small hugelkultur, and broadcast a lot of seed this year. I want to meet you if there is a chance. Becoming established/integrated in the social world here has been a little challenging for me....

Are you East Asian by any chance? Or hot? LOL. I needed photos of YOU, not your upside down house. I am a pescarian, near-vegan, 44, 5'7 1/2" and quite thin. But, I have my own place. I would be willing to move somewhere warm for the PERFECT match...but, I am odd about my needs and desires.
How ever, there is an Asian woman online who might fit your desires more than I would. I can hook you up if you'll agree to help me find someone ! She isn't vegetarian, but LOVES animals. In fact, she has quite a few and constantly posts animal rescue stuff and petitions...as do I. But, she is smaller than me and younger. We are both bone-thin. Her name is Anna.
