It seems like Mike Oehler and Paul tout their techniques as being easy, and Mike built his mostly by himself out in the woods... How do you move these logs around for construction, especially raising up the big roof girders? My project calls for 11" round, 13 foot long girders. What are some good techniques for moving and lifting them?

You could try a simple Greek crane. Fairly easy to setup with the proper rigging and knowledge. If you try this do a lot of research into rigging safety.

This is a crappy paint image, but anyone has my permission to redistribute or edit the image in any way they want.

Good video about block and tackle raising
