Here's a story from the Good News Network about how a Dutch company is making coffins out of mushroom mycelium and hemp plants:

This kind of coffin can reduce one's carbon footprint. But I'm wondering, is this really the first company to do this?

I have heard of similar things, its a good idea though, coffins with the concrete lining and/or the plastic lining suck because our bodies can't return to the earth and its contrary to right-living, or dying in this case.
 
They weren't very bright, but they were very, very big. Ad contrast:
