Hello!

I’m brand new to Permies so please point me in the right direction if I’m posting on the wrong forum.

I’m a 38 year old solo dude in a cozy, fully furnished, well maintained 3 br / 2 ba house on 10 acres in the Ruby Valley, MT. I have a beautiful , productive established garden space, and a nice coop that can fit about 15 hens comfortably. (There’s plenty of room for expansion on both fronts). The house was originally off grid, so some appliances are still on LP. I mainly heat with wood. There’s a big freezer, backup generator, and washer/dryer. It’s real 21st century stuff. The property is adjacent to BLM land and minutes away from world class trout fishing on the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Ruby, and Jefferson rivers.

I’m a contract geologist and travel a lot during the summer, so my ability to develop/utilize this property has been limited in the past couple of years. I thought I’d poke around here and see if anyone is interested in renting a living/gardening space in one of prettiest places on planet earth. In some sense, I’d just like to know that the place is occupied and appreciated while I’m out of town.

As for me, I’m very clean, organized, and generally chill, and I’m looking for a housemate who is similar. I get along with most types of people. I like to hunt, fish, garden, work, talk philosophy, shoot pool, and occasionally visit one of Montana’s famous dive bars.

Shoot me a message and we can talk more if this seems like a fit!

Hey Rich.

Although I'm a bit tied up now, I am interested in staying here at your place in Ruby Valley sometime in the future. Most likely spring time of next year if things line up.

I currently live in PA, I'm looking to go to CA eventually. Id love to stay here for a while on the way. So it won't be a real long term thing unless things change.

I work as a water operator for a municipality. Have experience in water treatment and plumbing. And love to garden and fishing homesteading. Respectful and responsible. I work geologists a good bit when drilling new wells and doing soil and erosion reports. Heard good things about that area of Montana, always wanted to check out bear tooth mountain.

Thanks for your time and willing you find the right folks for your place. Take care.
