Corrupted ebook (turns out he was using the wrong reader)

Hello Permies,

I recently purchased the ebook version of Building a better world... (via gumroad.com), and I can't open it because the machine says it's corrupt (the other ebooks I got worked). Any guidance appreciated.

When that happens to me, the first thing I try is downloading it again with a reliable internet connection.

That looks like a download link that is just for you. Can you give me the link to the purchase page? Gumroad stuff is a little weird.

Can you tell us the exact size of the file you have?  And then we can compare it to what we have.  This will tell us if the problem is an incomplete download.

Also, the other books that you can read just fine, are they pdf or epub?

a:  i was fishing for the exact byte count.  

b:  pdf?  should be epub.

I thought, hey, maybe we made an error somewhere, so I went through the process just like anyone else would.  

After purchase, I arrived at this window:



Clicked download, and everything went as expected.  

Opened the epub file and it opened my ereader.  I had the option of selecting what app I wished to use to read the file.

Worked as expected.

I do not know how you would have wound up with a .pdf file and not an epub file.  Can you double check that?

What ereader are you using to try to read the book, Jason?  

Yes, it's an epub, and it works. Thank you.
My bad, I haven't had an epub before, and for some reason my computer identified it as a PDF (and with no file extension to see I believed it).
