Just putting this out there...I don't know what's going to happen...I'm looking for either or both of these things:

My name is Miriam. I have a small camper and working to complete my off-grid mobile set-up. I come with 5 goats, 1 sheep and 2 cats.
I offer animal care, gardening and homesteading skills. Happy to help out in any way. I also paint murals and you can commission any artwork from me - beading, painting, drawing etc.

1. Looking for a spot to be right now, preferably near where I am, so northern Wisconsin or around Lake Superior. I had a plan for this summer but it's looking like it might not work out. I was intending to work part-time and build up my resources, whilst growing a garden for food and completing my off-grid mobile set up. I can work trade - all I want is a corner on some land. Don't need anything. Just nature, quiet and to be away from civilization!! (Occasional phone service to call my mum).

2. Land shares or community farms - I've heard these things exist...I've done 3 1/2 years of community living, so I know all the upsides and downsides...I'm very respectful and, though I like having people around, quiet time is very important to me. I'm envisioning a community where we take care of each other when needed. For example, I'll take care of your animals or garden while you're away, and when I need to travel (for family abroad) you can watch my animals.

I don't know! I just need to put a message out there so I can start figuring out my living situation! Animals, plants, land, water and our relatives of mother earth. Living with the land is what I do best, but I have much more to learn. Leave me in the woods or somewhere green, and I will be OK. Give me animals and plants to care for and I will be happy. Spent the last few years living in beautiful, wild or semi-wild landscapes, I really don't want to leave. I can't go back to the Empire, I will not go back unless I have to!

Thanks!

Once you live free there is no other way of life that will suffice!

17+ years since I moved to freedom 2 miles from pavement, power lines or neighbors.

I'm on 20 acres in upstate NY.  The property is mostly wooded, but there are several small clearings throughout it filling in with brambles, the front yard is cleared and has southern exposure.    There is a small creek.  I just moved here in September and am new to permaculture and would love more seasoned help in getting things started.

I share a lot of the same goals and would love to have some goats around.  I have worked at micro goat dairies in the past both making cheese and milking/goat care.

If this region is someplace you would consider, than please send me a message.
If not, good luck in your search.

Miriam, my partner and I have 5 1/2 acres in Northern Michigan, south of Traverse City on the Manistee River (30m from lake michigan). Some photos here: https://skycladhill.com/?page_id=64 This summer we're focused on adding to our mound cultures and a new greenhouse build. Let me know, if of interest, happy to discuss further.
