Searching for a Millennial Camping buddy to try out camping as a lifestyle

I've already made a few posts on this website. First, I made a post about a tech-free community, then realized I'm really not sure where to have it and may not even be ready to start it if my gut feelings aren't giving me straight details. Then, I made a post about meeting locally near NYC to explore nature together, but I feel like that won't help me explore a different way of life that I'm longing for. So now I am trying this. It feels a lot more like my next step. P.S. turning 34 in a few weeks!

Grats on 34.. so camping lifestyle? Will guess van life or camping out of car is what you are talking about. I already live camping lifestyle just more sever and no moving around as much as you would be doing, also known as boondocking.. Sorry NY and PNW areas I pretty much look at as easy camping unless it is winter. I living off grid high desert so very little tech with solar and starlink as there are no services where I am at. As for community Idea will guess small area living close together. Community here is spread out as in closes neighbor 3 miles away, closes person I woild say in my ring of people is over 10 miles away. What you are looking at is possible but way harder than you think and with many personal sacrificies.. IE need remote work or you just made commute to work harder.. Not always having place to clean up.. Lack of space for personal items..

I have been out West for the past six months and about twenty thousand miles off grid in my off road travel trailer. I have had fifty square miles and wild horses to myself at times, it has been amazing. It is a tough lifestyle but one hundred percent worth it the peace and feeling alive it brings.

You might want to describe your idea of camping and what you are actually after.  Also realize "camping" and camping are different things. It takes a lot of real hard work to camp in freezing weather and high humidity (95%+) & hot temperatures(95f+) aren't much fun either.  

 Also think about how you're going to work / pay to live.

That sounds really fun! What state?

LOL Where I live off grid full time it's 2 miles or more in every direction from neighbors or pavement / powerlines. 18 years and counting!

Wow, impressive Larry! I'd say I'd like a place that doesn't get overly hot and is tolerable in the winter too! Places like that exist. I read that even people in Alaska made it without electricity

All over, i've explored most of NM, AZ, UT, some of NV. Currently heading to OR for the remainder of the fire season because i'm tired of all this wildfire smoke. At least there is some relief there with the coastal wind. I've had 700+ firefighter fires pop up within a few miles of me at times, nothing like waking up to a mountain on fire behind you.

That's crazy! Seems like that's happening in so many places around the world now

I like electricity and camping both. I'm in process of building a E-bike to sight see the country over the next few years. I bought one last year and it's been great but now I'm attempting to build a long distance solar powered version and a bike towable camper to go with it so I can truly see this great country! I'm just a big kid at heart and looking forward to exploring for a few years while some friends watch over my place. Still trying to decide if I want to keep or sell my livestock.

The Appalachian foothills of Va where I live come about as close as I know how to find to not to hot or cold with 4 actual seasons.

It would be nice to find a kindred spirit to go along on my country wide E-bike exploring trip, although I won't be ready to go for another couple years. I have to pay this place off and get friends living nearby first along with getting the bike and camper built. It all takes time and money......
