This is year 3 and phase 3 expansion for the "Garden of Eat'n" I hope that by the time memorial day weekend is over, we have suitable temps to get all the plants in the greenhouse, out into the beds.

So far the only things we have in the ground are onions, garlic, strawberries, asparagus, rhubarb, sunflowers, beans, corn, peas, potatoes and horseradish.

Most our beds are reclaimed barn beams, reclaimed cinder blocks or regular pine that I burn/char to make the wood last longer.

Very nice set up. I do chaos gardening. Very curious how this will turn out!
What do you mulch the path with? Do you sow some grexes of crops to see what turns out best liking these circumstances? Do you do some seed saving?

Creating edible biodiversity and embracing everlasting abundance.

In between the beds is rock (quarter sized) All my seeds are saved seed from the prior year with the exception of the bolero carrots.

The greenhouse is now empty. Plants I started back in early March are all in the ground. 36 tomato plants. (both cherry and Quarter Century) The "Garden of Eat'n" (our "Grow-cery" store) is now in action.

Nearly all that we planed is from saved seeds from last years garden. We only bought onions sets, strawberry crowns and Carrot seed. Last night was the last foretasted night in the 30's.

Zone 3/4 so this is our typical time frame for outdoor plantings. 120 days from now, we can expect our first fall frost.

Carrot bed #1, Day 14. 750 carrot seeds have sprouted. Evenly spaced, no thinning required.

Carrot bed #2 was planted 10 days later. 1000 seeds in and Id expect ans 85% success rate based on prior years.

115 days from now (Oct. 25th), We hope to again get a bunch of half pounders. A tiny video below.

Wow, very nice everything looks so healthy. It's all very orderly. You would probably loose your mind if you saw the jungle I grow. Thanks for sharing

Its Garlic time. I like an Early Aug. Garden. (zone 3/4 so we are not far from our first frost)
We are in a bit of a drought so we have been doing a lot of irrigating but its paying off. No rain in the long term forecast either.
We have the grand kids coming to stay with us. I hope we have enough veggies to last 2 weeks.
