I just built a 3x6 raised bed, with logs in the bottom.
It's kinda in the shade, except in the morning and evenings.
Any suggestions for what to plant?

I'm sitting on the path next to the bed, evergreen boughs are very soft to sit, kneel and stand on.

Anything with dark green leaves - the darker the better, they have evolved as shade plants.  Spinach or silverbeet are my go-tos for shade.  Read somewhere that hostas like shade also if that's the way you are thinking.

Ye gads! Gooseberries are not recommended amongst evergreens.

Gooseberries?
I do have a jostaberry on the other side of the house, and I was considering adding some to the front.
Is the white pine rust carried by gooseberries is specific to white pines only?
I'm not even sure what kind of evergreen I have anyway.
I'll look into it.

A bed of greens would be pretty ideal.
I  have people and animals that would appreciate them.
