Hi,
Does anyone have experience with chopping & "dropping" or composting Four o' Clocks (Mirabilis jalapa)? I'm clearing out an area & there are many of these, I know not to keep the huge tubers (such a pity they're not edible), and read that they can be grown from cuttings, but it doesn't seem that's a regular propagation technique. Before I chop them up & perhaps end up with a nightmare of re-growing Four o' Clock plants in my banana mound, I'd appreciate any advice. I hate to waste the considerable amount of biomass by chucking the plant stems into the yard waste! Speed of reply much appreciated because I'm out there today!

Thanks!!

It sounds to me like a chip and drop would produce many new plants.

Four or Clocks was one of the first plants I planted her unfortuately cut worms liked them, too.
