Just wondering if this design would work or have I missed the wagon all together?

The reason for the design is for space, I don't have much and also for a more traditional fireplace look.

David Chernecki : While the old name for this Forum is Rocket stoves, it was meant to be and has totally morphed into talking about Rocket Mass Heaters full time, If someone
makes a Rocket Stove they might post a picture here but it was the inclusion of the word playa that convinced me you wanted a Rocket Stove !

I expect that after you have your fire going flames will lick up the length of your fire wood and your other chimney will not work at all, Try the more traditional approach, with
the fire wood laid flat, bringing the air for combustion up from underneath so that only the tips of the fire wood burns, you will have to poke the wood in farther every few minutes

This is going to set a record for this site, if you need to see a good example ( without glass viewing porthole) go to the Aprovecho Site and poke around, I refuse to send you to
U-Tube land, as there is so much shit out there ! Hope this helps ! For the Craft !

Think like fire, flow like a gas, Don't be the Marshmallow! As Always comments and questions are solicited and Welcome ! PYRO - Logically BIG AL !

Thanks for the info and quick reply!

I did mean rocket mass heater, dunno why I said rocket stove.

I'm checking out the site and have done much research already. From what I understand as long as the burn chamber and exhaust are roughly the same diameter with few interruptions in exhaust flow, it technically should work. Allowing for thermal expansion too of course.

I have a plan made to make it relatively inexpensive, lightweight, space saving and something that's beautiful.

I'm going to try the design a few times before I cement it all in and make sure its working, I will keep this updated with pics as I go and if it works I'll do up a plan to share.

I've been in the construction industry for almost 12 years now so I'm fairly confident I can build it, it's just making sure it will work is the issue.
