lol my first experimental rocket stove melted its self

so i build a bucket rocket stove out of scrap i had laying around to take on a camping trip tonight. aluminium flashing rolled into a double layer tube for heat riser and fire tube and vermiculite and cob and some dirt..

fired the puppy up for a test run all was fine until i added the bag of vermiculite around the heat riser and topped it off with a 6 in layer of dirt. temps rose and the whole damn thing on the inside melted away and verm caved in...lmao damn this thing got hot!!!

That is why we experiment outside!!
