I have a connection that says they can supply me with indeterminate amounts of milk from an organic, grass fed dairy that's being cast off because the cows have or recently had mastitis. I did a little bit of reading, and see that a lot of people suggest feeding the milk to chickens and dogs, and some say that they feed it to dogs. It seems counterintuitive to me that it should be OK to feed it to livestock, but thought I should post here and get slightly more refined wisdom.
Does anyone have any insight or experience with this? Does pasteurizing help? Is it necessary? Should the whole lot be thrown out and forget about it?
Thanks for whatever wisdom you've got.
Cheers.
