I was just watching Ernie on the videos "season" a pocket rocket barrel with oil and a sponge…What kind of oil can be used for this? Any special type?

Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill; Not sure what ernie is using , but its just like seasoning a cast iron pan. Use any quality cooking oil ( I prefer olive oil ) Rub it in while the barrel is cooling down then let it set. If you use to much it may smoke a little the next day, but will burn off in no time.

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
